About the course

Ko Apera tōku ingoa. My name is Apera, and I am passionate about uplifting Te Reo Māori. I’m especially excited to facilitate a learning group in the community where I grew up. Together, we can help plant the seeds for an Aotearoa where Te Reo Māori is widely spoken and celebrated.
 

This course focuses on practical speaking, reading and comprehension skills that you can apply straight away in real-world situations. In the beginning, this might be as simple as bringing a few Māori words and phrases into your everyday conversations. As the course progresses, you'll build towards confidently reading, understanding and speaking full sentences relevant to everyday life.
 

Drawing on more than a decade of language-learning experience, I’ve designed a fun, streamlined and supportive learning environment to help you build a strong foundation in Te Reo Māori.
 

My hope is that this course will not only accelerate your learning and build your confidence, but also inspire you to continue growing your knowledge long after the 12 weeks are finished.​
